When you use BuyTheDate, we collect the username you submit, your message, your optional image upload, the selected date tile, purchase timestamps, and report or moderation information tied to the content. We also process basic technical data needed to operate the site, such as IP-derived request logs, browser details, and theme preference stored locally in your browser.
2. Public information
BuyTheDate is a public display product. Your submitted username, message, optional image, and related purchase history for the selected date can be visible to anyone visiting https://buythedate.com. Do not submit personal data or anything you do not want displayed publicly.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Polar. BuyTheDate does not store full payment card details. Polar may collect billing and payment information under its own privacy and compliance obligations.
4. How we use information
We use collected information to operate the calendar, complete transactions, display purchased content, detect abuse, review reports, enforce platform rules, maintain security, and communicate about support or legal issues.
5. Data retention
BuyTheDate retains purchase history, moderation records, and related technical logs for operational, legal, and fraud-prevention purposes. Removed content may remain in internal records where reasonably necessary for compliance and dispute handling.
6. Sharing
We share data with service providers that help operate BuyTheDate, including hosting, image processing, and payment services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our policies, or to respond to valid rights-holder complaints.
